Paris-Cargese Activity-based Modeling & Simulation (Paris - ACTIMS'2012)

Welcome to the home page of the Paris Activity-based Modeling & Simulation!

The workshop aims at defining new research directions for activity-based modeling and simulation by bringing together world experts from many disciplines.

The workshop will be held December, 1 (arrival) - December, 4 (departure) 2012 at Paris, France. The workshop takes the Dagstuhl and CAMPaM seminar formats – “bring a critical mass of top researchers together in a relatively remote location and soon new ideas will flow.”

Local Organizers:

  • Antoine Spicher, LACL lab, Université de Paris-Est, Créteil, France.
  • Martin Potier, LACL lab, Université de Paris-Est, Créteil, France.

Short Bibliography on Activity

  1. David Hill: Discrete Modeling and Simulation, applications to live science
  2. Patrick Coquillard: Ecological Modeling and Simulation
  3. Xiaolin Hu: Activity-based M&S
  4. Eric Innocenti: Activity fuzzy logic
  5. Rodrigo Castro: Simulation and control of heterogeneous systems
  6. Gabriel Wainer: Cell-DEVS
  7. Olivier Dalle: Fractal DEVS
  8. Laurent Capocchi: DEVSSimPy

Not coming

  1. Does not attend Raphaël Duboz: MAS, TM&S, Network Analysis, Socio-ecosystems
  2. Hans Vangheluwe: Model-driven Engineering and Simulation

The goal is to automatically: detect, model and simulate spatial and/or temporal patterns activity (as a measure of event occurrences or state changes.) Every algorithm, definition… relies on the usual steps of the modeling and simulation cycle: (i) Observation, (ii) Modeling, (iii) Simulation, (iv) Validation, (i) Observation, etc.

Those that are hosted at the University will be staying at the 164_presentation.jpg Hotel Le Magistère in Créteil. They can be reached at +33 149 811 313. To get there by Metro , use line 8 and go down at the station Maison-Alfort Les Juilliottes, walk under the bridge and follow until you reach 98-100 avenue du Maréchal De Lattre de Tassigny (map ).

To get to the University, you can come either by

  • metro (line 8) at station Créteil-Université (map ) or
  • by car, parking at a free parking located at 61 avenue du Général de Gaulle, 94010 Créteil (map ) with GPS coordinates (N 48.7885255949435°, E 2.441960871219635°).

Seminar Concept

As for previous editions, specialists from many disciplines (Economics, Evolutionary cognitive sciences, Ecology, Game, Robotics, Industry, Parallel and distributed simulation, Computer engineering…) are invited to the seminar. Every specialist writes a position research article (4 pages) discussing the use of activity in his domain. Every paper should be ready before the seminar. Accommodation and lunch are offered to the participants. In addition, there will be no registration fee. Every article will be peer-reviewed by two other invited scientists. All position research articles aim at being developped and included in a journal special issue. For all meetings, travel and dinner expenses are not supported by the seminar organization. At the seminar, theory and application oriented workshops will be organized to compare and integrate contributions.

Seminar Deadlines

  • November, 24: Full paper submission
